Angelenos, you’re in for a jam-packed week of events! From Oct. 11-15, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is in town. Now in its 21st year, the film festival is set to showcase 24 films — 6 narrative features, 2 documentary features, and 16 shorts. Since its inception, the IFFLA has widened its scope to include works from South Asia more broadly, with this years’ program spanning films from 13 countries and in 14 languages. Vishal Bhardwaj’s female-driven action feature “Khufiya” and post-film Q&A will kick off the festival, preceded by a red carpet and reception. Notably, “Khufiya” and Atul Sabharwal’s historical drama “Berlin” will be making their world theatrical premiere at this year’s IFFLA. North American premieres include Varun Grover’s dramedy “All Indian Rank,” Dominic Sangma’s international co-production “Rapture” and Anand Ekarshi’s debut film, “Aattam (The Play).”

In addition to the screenings, the IFFLA will host two happy hour events, a filmmaking master class and a panel, “From Likes to Livelihoods,” featuring viral artists and entrepreneurs alike on the topic of social media advertising and content creation. You won’t want to miss IFFLA’s week-long celebratory South Asian programming, abundant with networking opportunities and exclusive screenings.
