Fox drama series “The Cleaning Lady” has been renewed for a third season.
Michael Thorn, president of scripted programming for Fox Entertainment, praised the show and its past seasons in a recent statement:
After two heart-pounding seasons, we’re thrilled with how audiences have latched on to this incredible story. The cast, led by the incomparable Élodie Yung, along with our brilliant creative team and our partners at Warner Bros. Television have expertly crafted a highly compelling, emotionally-driven show that gives a perspective you don’t often see on television.
Season 3 sees Jeannine Renshaw joining as executive producer and co-showrunner.
Renshaw will serve alongside series creator Miranda Kwok and take over Melissa Carter’s role as co-showrunner. Renshaw has previously worked on TV series such as “Charmed,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Manifest.” The show’s executive producers also include Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, Rose Marie Vega and Paola Suarez.
“The Cleaning Lady,” which aired its Season 2 finale on Dec. 12, 2022, stars Élodie Yung as Cambodian Filipino doctor Thony De La Rosa.
After going to the U.S. in search of a medical treatment for her sick child, she ends up becoming an undocumented cleaning lady who gets involved in the criminal underworld. The hit series also stars Oliver Hudson, Adan Canto and Naveen Andrews.
Fox has reported that the series’ second season is averaging 5.4 million viewers per episode, with multi-platform viewing considered.
“The Cleaning Lady” is a co-production between Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment based on the Argentine TV series “La chica que limpia.”
