While news about the upcoming Shang-Chi sequel remains unfortunately slim — fans of Simu Liu and Awkwafina can be sated with news of a future reunion for the two.
And from the looks of it, this project will be one hell of a ride. The duo, alongside John Cena, are joining Paul Feig’s latest film, “Grand Death Lotto.” The action-comedy is set in California in the near future, where the winner of the “Grand Lottery” must find a way to survive till the sun sets to keep their prize. Unfortunately for Los Angeles transplant Katie (Awkwafina) finds herself with the winning ticket and teams up with amateur jackpot protector Noel (Cena) as they fight off against other lottery hopefuls. Their biggest threat comes from Noel’s rival Louis Lewis (Liu), who is on the hunt for the two to gain the multi-billon cash prize for his wealthy employer.
The Amazon Original Movie will be available to stream on Prime Video, with production starting next week. Hopefully, audiences won’t have to wait too long before it is released.
