A trailer for the upcoming film “Sailor Moon Cosmos” – which is being billed as the “final chapter of Sailor Moon” – has recently been released.

The trailer, posted to YouTube on Monday, showcases characters such as Sailor Moon’s final antagonist, Sailor Galaxia. The villain will be voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, who is known for such iconic roles as Rei Ayanami in “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” Faye Valentine in “Cowboy Bebop” and the female Ranma Saotome in “Ranma 1/2.”

The upcoming movie’s theme song, “Tsuki no Hana,” is notably performed by Japanese singer and rapper Daoko.

“Sailor Moon Cosmos” will mark the conclusion of the current Sailor Moon remake, which began with the 2014 animated series “Sailor Moon Crystal.”

The remake was initially met with skepticism from fans of the original anime from the 1990s. However, “Sailor Moon Crystal” has since garnered fairly positive reviews on sites such as Rotten Tomatoes.

“Sailor Moon Cosmos,” which will be released as a two-part movie, is a direct sequel to the 2021 two-part film “Sailor Moon Eternal.” It is an adaptation of the final arc of the original Sailor Moon manga, with Part 1 scheduled for a June 9 release and Part 2 scheduled for a June 30 release in Japan.
