Nintendo released trailers for upcoming games and updates for the Nintendo Switch during a Nintendo Direct livestream on Wednesday.

The 45-minute livestream kicked off with a trailer for “Pikmin 4,” a real-time strategy game that is slated for release on July 21. The trailer introduced a new dog-like creature named Oatchi to the “Pikmin” series’ fourth main installment.

Fans of the third-person shooter “Splatoon,” which debuted in 2015, can now look forward to a paid expansion pack for “Splatoon 3.”

The game, which became the second-bestselling game for Nintendo last quarter, will span two expansions: Inkopolis, launching this spring, and Side Order, which will come later.

Other announced expansions included new content for the action role-playing game “Xenoblade Chronicles 3,” the tactical role-playing game “Fire Emblem Engage” and the racing game “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.”

A trailer for the long-awaited remaster of the original action-adventure game “Metroid Prime” was also released.

The digital version of the game is now available in Nintendo’s eShop.

Another classic making its way to Switch is a bundled remake of the “Advance Wars” turn-based strategy games. “Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp” will launch on the Switch on April 21.

“Samba de Amigo: Party Central,” a new rhythm game that is part of the cult classic music series “Samba de Amigo,” and an HD re-release of the classic DS dungeon-crawling series “Etrian Odyssey” were also revealed to be coming to the Switch.

The beloved paranormal detective game “Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective” will also return this summer with a remaster.

Subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online are now able to play original Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games.
