Downey Jr. serves as an executive producer alongside co-showrunners Park Chan-wook and Don Mckellar. The book’s author Viet Thanh Nguyen is also on board to produce the series. “The Sympathizer” is a co-production between HBO, A24, and Rhombus Media.
