Take a first look at Willis Wu’s journey as he tears up the status quo in these new photos of the Hulu series “Interior Chinatown” set to release on Nov. 19.

The series takes a surrealist look into the life of Willis (Jimmy O. Yang) as an Asian American actor stuck in a police procedural struggling to overcome clichéd roles and stereotypes, both professionally and in his personal life. But as he continues to act within the show, he soon makes discoveries about the secrets of the strange world he’s in and his family’s past.

At a panel for “Interior Chinatown” at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Hulu shared the first-look images, and its stars Yang, Chloe Bennet and Ronny Chieng, took to the stage to talk about the upcoming series and how the adaptation differs from the novel. On the panel, Charles Yu, who wrote the 2020 bestseller said that making the adaptation was difficult because he had to get used to the idea that it wasn’t the book. You have to rethink the whole concept. The show ends in a way where there’s multiple seasons possible,” Chieng said.

Chloe Bennet and Jimmy O.Yang star as two actors stuck in the television show “Black & White.”

Yu is returning to write the teleplay for “Interior Chinatown” while Taika Waititi directed the pilot for the series. The cast is stacked with other API actors like Tzi Ma, Archie Kau, Chau Long, Diana Lin and Annie Chang.

Before “Interior…
