Hong Kong star Jacqueline Wong has returned to the entertainment industry with a new music release after a four-year hiatus.
The popular actress, who stayed under the radar since her high-profile cheating scandal, released her new song “Crown Me” on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. The music video has been viewed nearly 100,000 times on YouTube in less than 12 hours since posting.
In April 2019, the 34-year-old actress was caught cheating on her then-boyfriend, TVB actor Kenneth Ma, with 55-year-old singer Andy Hui.
Images of Wong and Hui kissing in the back of a taxi made local and international headlines. At the time, Hui was married to 50-year-old Hong Kong superstar Sammi Cheng.
After issuing separate public apologies, both Wong and Hui took a step back from the limelight. Hui staged his comeback in 2021, while Wong remained inactive for several years.
At the time, Cheng said she planned to forgive Hui, and the couple remain married to this day. Meanwhile, Ma ended his relationship with Wong and is now currently engaged to TVB actress Roxanne Tong.
During a recent event for her new film “Lost Love,” Cheng expressed her support for Wong’s return and the new release.
“I have not heard about this, but if you were to ask me, everybody deserves a new beginning,” Cheng said. “Regardless of what we have experienced, everybody should have a chance to start anew.”
When asked about her Valentine’s Day plans, Cheng revealed that she and Hui didn’t have any special plans, stating that they were content with a simple dinner.
