Former President Donald Trump has been discharged from the hospital following an attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, Trump was swiftly escorted off the stage by the Secret Service after gunshots were fired, narrowly grazing his ear. The perpetrator has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania, who was subsequently killed by law enforcement.
Tragically, one attendee lost their life in the incident, while two others remain in critical condition, according to law enforcement sources cited by NBC News.
In video footage, Trump can be seen recoiling to the right, clutching his ear, and then falling to the ground. Secret Service agents swiftly surrounded him and safely transported him to his vehicle. Blood could be observed on the right side of his head.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Saturday evening, condemning the violence and affirming that such acts have no place in America.
Originally planning to spend the weekend in Delaware, Biden altered his plans and decided to return to Washington later in the evening.
