FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale State College received the 2023 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for the second consecutive year from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, the college announced.
As a recipient of the annual HEED Award — a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an “outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion” — FSC will be featured, along with 108 other recipients, in the November/December 2023 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.
“Farmingdale State College is committed to diversity, equity and inclusive excellence and this award is a tremendous point of pride,” said John Nader, PhD, president of FSC, in a news release. “We are honored to be recognized among a select few of U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding dedication to these institutional priorities.”
The application process focused on the recruitment and retention of students and employees, best practices, leadership support for diversity, campus culture and climate, supplier diversity, and many other aspects of campus diversity and inclusion.
FSC’s 2022 HEED Award is on display in Quintyne Hall, Room 100.
