Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. will star as Superman and Brainiac 5, respectively, in the upcoming animated film “Legion of Super-Heroes.”
“Legion of Super-Heroes” is the latest installment in the new slate of DC animated films set in the shared universe known as the Tomorrowverse. Criss reprises his role as Superman from the 2020 flick “Superman: Man of Tomorrow,” while Shum Jr. makes his DC superhero debut lending his voice to the superhero Brainiac 5.
The story follows Supergirl, voiced by Meg Donnelly, as she struggles to adjust to life on Earth following the loss of her home planet Krypton.
Her cousin, Superman, encourages her to attend the Legion Academy in the 31st century, where she meets new friends and a new foe in Brainiac 5. Meanwhile, Kara must also face the Dark Circle, a mysterious group searching for a powerful weapon held at the Academy.
Cast members Jensen Ackles and Matt Bomer return as Batman and The Flash, respectively.
The film is directed by Jeff Wamester, written by Josie Campbell and executive produced by Sam Register.
