MILWAUKEE — For years, Tony Ho’s life has revolved around the culinary world. He said being a restaurant owner is allowing him to share his culture with the community.
He’s the owner and executive chef at Momo Mee Asian Cuisine in Milwaukee. They’re one of the many Milwaukee restaurants participating in Asian Restaurant Week for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPI). The month celebrates AAPI contributions to the community.

Ho was born in Hong Kong and went to culinary school in Japan. He was 36 when he came to the United States to be with his family, which he said was a culture shock.
He said he’s used to a fast-paced lifestyle that includes working a lot.
“In Asian countries, most people work 80-90 hours,” said Ho. “It’s very, very normal.”
He’s carried that work ethic with him and uses it in the restaurant business.
“Asian culture and Asian cuisine is very popular right now in the world, not just America,” he said.

He said he takes pride in his Chinese culture and is glad he can help others experience it through food. At his restaurant, he’s doing just that. The restaurant serves Pan Asian cuisine, which includes Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese inspired dishes.
“Momo Mee has been in Walker’s Point almost five years,” said Ho. “I’m very happy to have so many loyal customers to support us.”
