Lucy Liu is attached to star in an upcoing high-concept sci-fi comedy titled “Nobody Nothing Nowhere.”
Based on a script written by Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer during the 2018 Blacklist and Sundance Screenwriter Labs which centers on a world populated by humanlike life forms called Non-People whose sole purpose is to create a realistic environment for Dave, the last remaining human on the planet. When Ruth, one of the Non-People, becomes disillusioned with her role, she seeks to create a life on her own terms. Wolther and Fischer will write and direct.
The “Kill Bill” actor will star alongside Emmy Award winner Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, who called working with Liu and Gordon-Levitt “a dream come true.”
Executive producer Nat McCormick promises that the film is “not only… a strong commercial project with a hilarious script,” but will also tackle “social issues in a mind-boggling cinematic universe.”
Filming for “Nobody Nothing Nowhere” will start this summer.
In the meantime, you can catch Liu in the upcoming DC film “Shazam: Fury of the Gods,” where she plays the villainous Kalypso.
