Tony Leung was met with a warm welcome by his fans and fellow Hong Kong actor Andy Lau upon joining Douyin.

The beloved actor and singer, 60, created a Douyin account on Monday. He is also active on other social media platforms such as Instagram.

Just one day after joining Douyin, Leung reportedly had over 1.5 million followers. As of this writing, he now has over 2 million followers.

In his account’s first video, Leung can be seen wearing a navy suit and a black turtleneck.

He describes himself as someone “not very special, will sometimes go into a daze and hide himself occasionally.”

“Many fans think my eyes can talk,” the actor continues as the camera zooms in on his face. “Since my eyes can talk, I will just keep looking at you like this.”

“I also have a heart that wants to meet you,” he concludes with a smile.

His 45-second message reached the hearts of millions, already receiving over 2 million likes.

In addition to countless fans, Leung was welcomed by former co-star Lau, 61, who shared his excitement in his own Douyin video.

Inspired by an iconic line from their 2002 action thriller “Infernal Affairs,” Lau says, “I thought I would have to wait for you for three years, another three years and another three years, but I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon. Thank you Wai Jai, and I hope you can share your life and wonderful moments with everyone on Douyin.”

Despite their excitement over Leung’s Douyin account, a few fans asked him not to follow his celebrity peers by using his platform for commercial purposes.

“I hope you won’t sell goods here,” one user commented, according to Yahoo.

“Make good movies, not sell goods,” another user pleaded.

Leung, who was born on June 27, 1962, has been honored numerous times during his prolific acting career.

Some of his achievements include winning Best Actor at the 53rd Cannes Film Festival in 2002 and being named Asian Filmmaker of the Year by the Busan International Film…
