An exciting new wave of Asian American hitmakers are breaking onto the EDM scene at Miami Music Week this March.

Powerhouse DJs Elephante and SABAI have teamed up to launch Hidden Horizons, a new collective and label for Asian American DJs and producers. Kicking off their launch, they’re celebrating at FREEHOLD Studios on March 20.

For Hidden Horizon,  it’s not just about the music. They’re part-label, part-movement—an opportunity to bring more representation to a historically white and privileged music scene and empower new Asian creatives.

“Hidden Horizon is about building the community I wish I had when I was starting my career, both among creatives and with fans,” says Elephante (Tim Wu). “It’s about giving underrepresented voices a platform to be heard, and celebrating the culture that has brought us to where we are.”

Bringing Asian American talents to the forefront of the EDM scene

The label has arrived at just the right time. After the pandemic, the dance music industry bounced back from quarantine with skyrocketing demands for live EDM performances, while EDM-inspired hits by some of music’s biggest pop stars continue to dominate the charts. For rising Asian American DJs and producers, Hidden Horizons is a crucial platform in an increasingly competitive music scene.

At the launch party on March 20, Hidden Horizons is keeping it close to home with a special setlist of all Asian American DJs, including co-founders Elephante and Sabai who will share the stage with Los Angeles-based artist yetep as the event’s headlining act.

Other EDM stars from Hidden Horizons’ inaugural group of artists will also be performing, including Hoang, Win & Woo, DJ Mandy, Dreamdriver, and Ana V.
