MANLIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Manlius police arrested 24-year-old Cristian Pena Ramos from Newark, New Jersey, for a Manlius burglary that targeted the home of an Asian-American.
A neighbor spotted Pena Ramos burglarizing the home with two others and they immediately contacted 911, which led to police finding and arresting Pena Ramos, according to Manlius police.
The other two suspects got away and are still at large, despite “a diligent search with the assistance of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police K-9 and drone units,” Manlius police said.
Pena Ramos is charged with:
- Burglary in the second degree
- Criminal mischief in the third-degree
- Criminal mischief in the fourth degree (two counts)
- Conspiracy in the fourth-degree
- Possession of burglar’s tools
He was released on bail after being arraigned but was then taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement because of an immigration detainer, police say.
