Marvel star Simu Liu showed off his basketball skills while practicing for the upcoming NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.

On Thursday, Liu shared an Instagram post showcasing his training with trainer Binky Smalls.

“It’s an honor to be selected to the 2023 @NBAAllStar Celeb Game. See you guys in Salt Lake City,” he wrote.

The “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star joins rapper 21 Savage, singer Janelle Monáe, comedian Hasan Minhaj and musician Nicky Jam on former NBA star Dwyane Wade’s team. Team Dwyane will also include athletes, including tennis star Frances Tiafoe, NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf and WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale.

“I might be calling it too soon but your boy might be MVP, who knows?” Liu says in the video.

Team Dwyane will be playing against Team Ryan, which is led by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith.

Smith’s team includes rapper Cordae, musician Kane Brown, Phoenix Mercury star Diamond DeShielfs, WWE superstar The Miz, MLB star Albert Pujols and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” correspondent Guillermo Rodriguez.

In this year’s All-Star Game, team captains will be allowed to activate “Ruffles Crunch Time,” which starts a two-minute period where point values are doubled.

Additionally, the game’s “Unlock a Legend” feature will be returning, which means players will have the ability to add a legendary NBA player to their team mid-game.

The celebrities will take the court on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

We hope you consider making a contribution so we can continue to provide you with quality content that informs, educates and inspires the Asian community. Even a $1 contribution goes a long way.  Thank you for everyone’s support. We love you all and can’t appreciate you guys enough.
