Stop AAPI Hate launched on March 19, 2020.
The organization works to stop hate against the AAPI community. The coalition tracks AAPI incidents of hate, including violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying.
Violent attacks against Asian Americans surged during the pandemic. According to Stop AAPI Hate, 6,603 incidents against the AAPI community were reported between March 19, 2020, and March 31, 2021 to their organization.
The organization released this data around the time a white man killed eight people in Georgia — six of whom were of Asian descent.
